History, Government, & Social Studies

The Kansas College and Career Ready Standards for History, Government, and Social Studies prepare students to be informed citizens of their communities, the state, the nation, and the world. The content standards outline expectations for students to develop critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, the ability to evaluate the integrity and reliability of evidence and sources, and the knowledge needed to make connections between historical and current matters to anticipate and respond to world events. These expectations for mastery are interwoven through the disciplines of history, government, economics, geography, and the humanities through time and across continents.

Additional resources and information regarding the next generation assessments for history, government, and social studies will be developed and made available throughout the year.
